While traveling in Northern Thailand, I have found a great guest house called Lanna Discovery GH in historical center of Chiang Mai ciry, just two blocks from the well known Sunday Market (just returned from there:). It's great for budget travellers (250/room with your own hot shower and wifi) and it has so far the most comfortable beds in area, room is neat and clean. Also, people there were very nice, not pushy, everything felt great. I am suggesting it to my friends coming here in April. S VrzalaEU

Lanna Discovery, is a super tidy and nice guesthouse as well as a tour agent (including motorbike rental). We compared Lanna to different guesthouses in the vicinity and it's definitely the best one in the neighbourhood on a backpacker's budget. It's three years old, located in Chiang Mai's city center, close to the famous Sunday market (that's on today, by the way). Michael and FrancoisFrance
Lanna Discovery Guest House in Chiang Mai Old City. It is a very clean, affordable and safe (locked gates at night!) guesthouse with great staff. Everyone at the desk is very knowledgeable about the city and can help you arrange any type of ticket or tour you might be interested in. In addition, the location is great. It is right near the popular Sunday Market, and it is only a short walk from many of the big temples in the city center. C.FreeUSA
